It's Fire Season Again...

Major fire - 2000+ acres, or so I read this morning - over near the Lockheed plant in the Santa Cruz Mountains, west of highway 17. Evacuations, big smoke column, etc.

I found out about this late last night. It's not good.

  1. Just this Saturday, I spoke with someone I know who lives off Empire Grade about last year's [Martin] fire experience. They had been out of state at the time & had to come up with a list of things that could fit in one carload to have their children pull from the house pending the evacuation. While they were lucky last year (a wind shift could have changed the story), here goes again. Many of us consider this hypothetically but haven't actually written the list It probably is worth doing before an event.
